Dr. Wilhoit's experience serves as an important bridge between the art of medicine and the science of management.

Gordon B. Wilhoit, MD brings over 37 years’ clinical experience in primary care delivery to his role as Clinical Innovation Director at Value Health Partners. A former Chairman of the Primary-Care Collaboration at Roper St. Francis Health Alliance, a physician-led ACO, and a principal in the creation and development of Trident IPA, the first Independent Practice Association in the Low Country, Dr. Wilhoit  served as the managing partner at Berkley Family Practice for 30 plus years.

While first and foremost a physician, Dr. Wilhoit has also assumed leadership in the business of medicine and attended the Citadel School of Business, the American Academy of Family Practitioners' Fundamentals of Family Practice Management School, the International Council for Quality Care Best Practices, Medscape Physician Business Academy, and the McColl School of Business Physician Leadership Training.  As an independent family practitioner serving a rural community, he is intimately familiar with the administrative and regulatory challenges facing providers and the patients they serve and has a history of translating those challenges into opportunities to improve care and impact.

Most recently, through demystifying regulations and making billing regulations work for the provider, he has designed protocols that track and satisfy quality metrics, integrating MIPS and long-term cost savings on the CCM chassis.  Having achieved a MIPS score of 94.6 in 2017, Dr. Wilhoit frequently gets invited to speak to physicians and practice groups across the nation on how to operationalize these best practices.
